Terms of sale

Last updated [ date this notice is published ]

These are the terms on which [ registered business name ], of [ full street address, Cuttack, Odisha, PIN ], sells through this site. Placing an order means accepting them.

The pieces

Everything sold here is 925 sterling silver filigree, drawn and woven by hand in Cuttack. Because each piece is made by hand, no two are identical. Small differences in weight, in the turn of a wire and in finish are the nature of the work, not faults in it. Photographs are taken as faithfully as we can manage; screens differ, and silver in daylight is not silver on a phone.

Where a piece is described as made to order or as a commission, it does not exist yet. The lead time shown is our honest estimate, not a guarantee.

Prices

Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST at the rate shown at checkout.

Some pieces are priced from the day's silver rate and their price therefore moves. The price that binds is the one shown on the checkout page at the moment you place the order — not one seen earlier, not one quoted in a search result, and not one in a bag left open overnight. The order confirmation records the figure actually charged.

If a price is obviously wrong — a decimal point in the wrong place — we may decline the order rather than hold you to it, and will say so and refund you in full.

When an order is accepted

Placing an order is an offer to buy. It becomes a contract only when we confirm the order. Until then we may decline it, for instance where a piece has just been sold, where the materials turn out to be unobtainable, or where we cannot deliver to the address given.

Payment

[ how payment is taken today — the site records an order as pending payment and settlement is arranged separately; describe that honestly, and replace this paragraph when online payment goes live ]

Delivery, returns and cancellation

See Shipping & delivery and Returns & refunds. Those pages form part of these terms.

Hallmarking and care

We will hallmark a piece on request. Care notes are given on each piece's page where they apply; silver tarnishes, and tarnish is not a defect.

What belongs to whom

The photographs, text, designs and the patterns of the filigree on this site belong to us. Please do not reproduce them commercially without asking. Anything you send us — an enquiry, a reference photograph for a commission — stays yours, and we use it only to answer you and to make the piece.

Our responsibility

We stand behind the making of every piece. What we cannot accept responsibility for is loss that does not follow from the piece itself: a delayed courier, a missed occasion, or an indirect loss. Nothing here limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, which no term on a website can take away.

Which law applies

Indian law governs these terms, and the courts at [ city whose courts have jurisdiction — ordinarily Cuttack ] have jurisdiction.
